Hello,
I was a T-Mobile customer for 6 years until in 2012 the lack of reliable cellular service caused me to miss many important customer calls. I tried to work with T-Mobile to fix the issues but the service kept getting worse. I had no choice but to change carrier.
T-Mobile charged a $100 fee for early termination. Even though this is an abuse, since I was not receiving the service I was paying for. I paid the bill. On March 2013 T-Mobile sent a bill for $100 with a due date of 3/20/2013. I paid the total amount with a check that posted to my bank account 03/18/2013, two days before the due date.
Even after paying this bill in full prior to the due date, T-Mobile sent my account to Amsher Collection Services. When the collection agency called for the money I explained that I had payed the bill in full prior to the due date and there was nothing to be collected. They insisted that I pay a $25 fee for their services, which I refused.
My credit score has been gravely affected by the irresponsible actions of T-Mobile and Amsher Collection Services. My account should have never been sent to collection. I called T-Mobile customer care to fix it and they redirected my call to the collection agency. I was told that T-Mobile had to write a letter declaring that the account was paid in full and there is no money owed. I have sent several emails and called to request the letter but nothing has been done.
