Problem with bills [URGENT]

Hi, I started a family plan with T mobile on 12/29/2013, and had stated that I wanted a 500mb data plan. However, due to misunderstanding at the salesperson's side, I was charged the unlimited data plan instead. I tried changing the data plan online, but it stated that I will only have it changed with effect from 01/20/2014. I did not exceed the 500mb of given data for all plans. Will I be able to have the plan corrected with effect from the day I purchased the plan?
