Late Fee

When I went into T-Mobile to set up my account, the man that helped me told me there would be a fee for paying my bill late. Completely understandable. However, upon reading other questions about late fees, I read that my service would be terminated? I do not have the money until 6 days after the bill is due. Is there anything I can do to stop my service from being terminated?
