How do I fight these ridiculous charges - About to leave t-mobile

So, I went on a cruise.  I was told that if I didn't connect to the marine network, I wouldn't have network coverage (which was fine by me) but could still use my phone.  When I got on the ship, and the ship left port, I got a text telling me to dial a number (*766* I think?) if I wanted to enable the ship's network.  I did not dial this number.  I went swimming and hung around the ship. Before bed I checked my phone.  I got a text message telling me that my bill was over $50, despite the fact that I never enabled it in the first place!  It told me to dial a different number to disable the data roaming.  I dialed this number and went to bed.  The next morning I woke to a text telling me my bill was now $100. At this point I turned my phone off and left it off or in airplane mode for the rest of the time on the ship.

I complained via the live chat that I was charged for something that I did not enable, and then charged further after I followed the directions to disable it.  The person that helped me was very nice, but informed me that due to the nature of the charges they could not reimburse me more than $50, and that I was responsible for the rest.  This is ridiculous that I am responsible for charges that I never authorized in the first place, and half of which occurred after I tried to disable it!  Who do I contact to complain?  How do I get this taken care of? This, coupled with the fact that service has pretty much disappeared around my house, has me considering moving our family plan to another carrier...
