Hi, I initially was with AT&T but hated them because they didn't have good coverage in my area. When I saw the news that t-mobile would pay your early termination fee I felt it was an opportunity I couldn't pass up so I switched to t-mobile and utilized their service to pay for the early termination fee from AT&T. Once I did this I was on T-Mobile's Individual Simple Choice Plan for $50 a month. I had stayed with this plan for approximately two months before I grew tired of the fact that after I run my 1 Gigabyte allotment for the month, they tether my speed so low that I'm not even able to receive text messages. For the 2 months I was with T-Mobile, I kept receiving messages stating that the "Message failed to download" or something to that degree. It essentially made it so that I could no longer receive text messages on a consistent basis which was very annoying. Given that I suspected that this was a result of my data usage going over allotment, and given the fact that I barely used any of my minutes, I thought it would be a good idea if I switched to T-Mobile's Prepaid Plan which offered 100 minutes per month, unlimited text messages, and 5 Gigabytes of data per month. After I did this things were fine and worked out in regards to the missing text messages. However, as of right now, I have received in the mail a notification stating that I owe T-Mobile a $200 "Contract Termination Fee" on what I thought was a Simple Choice Plan with no contract. I am a bit annoyed by the fact that this was not made clear to me when I initially made the switch. I was led to believe that my Simple Choice Plan would not bind me to a contract like AT&T did. When I bought my device from T-Mobile i paid for that device in full at the very beginning so I don't think it has anything to do with that. I'm also upset by the fact that my service with T-Mobile wasn't even working when I was with the Simple Choice Plan and now they are essentially forcing me to either go back to that plan to avoid paying the fee, or pay a $200 fee that I wasn't even aware I would have to pay. If anybody has some advice as to what I should do moving forward, any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I like T-Mobile, and I would like to stay with them, but if they are going to hit me with a fee like that, I'm going to leave.
