I hope someone can get me a straight answer to this situation...
The notion of getting a free replacement sim card, especially if you are a loyal customer, has been mentioned all over the place in other discussions on this forum.. here is my story. I got a couple of iPhone 5's for myself and my wife and I needed 2 nano sim cards, i checked this forum and people say you might get them from (1) t-mobile themselves, or from a (2) retail store, for free or (3) for charge, but you can get reimbursed from t-mobile. Fine, so I go to a retail store to try option (2), unfortunately the gentelman over there insisted on the $20 per sim. So I called the customer care and told the lady the story, she was very nice and tried to ship me 2 for free, but it would take 2 weeks, by then I will be out of town for a long christmas break. so I thanked her and went to option (3), hoping that I will get reimbursed. Today I call the customer care again, and the gentelman on the other line spent 20 minutes trying to find a policy to get me reimbured, or at least get a 50% discount on what I paid in the retail store, and he couldn't.
So could someone please set the record straight on this issue? this should be a clear policy from t-mobile, not a way to make $20 from a customer who has been on a contract for many many years.
Its a simple question: Should someone with a new iPhone 5 get a free sim card or not? why does it have to do with retail stores or any other reason for that matter?
Thanks,
