I received a "no strings attached" promo and chose the Hotspot for .99 for 6 months. The fine print stated to cancel after 6 months to not be charged the $29 a month fee. Since it was no strings attached we went for it. The device arrived and stopped working after 1 1/2 months. I was not too concerned since it was only .99 and I would just cancel it after the trial period. Today I did just that and TRIED to cancel. Keyword: tried. Apparently I entered into a 2 year contract? WHAT!!!! I never entered into a 2 year contract. I read the fine print multiple times and it stated to cancel to no longer get charged. After "investigating" for what seemed like forever, the tmobile rep (who apologized for my long wait on hold) told me he could not find any documentation stating either way. So, since there was no definitive answer I couldn't cancel without early cancellation charges. I was told to file a "contract dispute" and hope that Tmobile agrees with me and allows me to cancel without fees. And what are the chances of that happening....
Has anyone else dealt with this and any advice?
