First T-Mobile bill
Overview
Based on your billing method, your first T-Mobile bill will be a little different than your agreed-upon monthly rate plan. Most new customers are now activated under Bill Current. See Bill Current & Bill Arrears for more information including how to determine what billing method you have.
- Your first bill includes the prorated monthly charges for the first few days of service plus the charges for next month, any usage charges, downloads, premium content from the prorated bill cycle, and all applicable taxes
- You are billed from the day you signed up for service and purchased your phone.
- All bills, not just the first bill, will have the time period each charge applies to next to the charge description on the bill.
- Any discount you sign up for at time of activation is applied to the first full bill cycle.
- As always, if you need assistance, dial 611 from your T-Mobile phone.
- You will need to sign up on My.T-Mobile.com to access your first bill.
- If you're already signed up, you'll just need to login

Missing promotion discount
Hello,
I registered for the lifetime discount promotion in June 2012. After 6 month I received the first 5 USD as lifetime discount (so instead of USD 60, only USD 55 get deducted for my pre-paid package every month). I was supposed to receive another 5 USd lifetime discount from mid. June this year but this did not happen (so I would expect only 50 USD to be deducted for the 60 USD service).
I called 611, tried online chat .. Nobody seems to be able to help?
I can't contact T-Mobile
a call came in from 8009378997 with an extension, asking me to call them back. at 8772976323
my phone was just refilled, but T-Mobile stole this from me, how am I going to call you back?
I tried, it says my account balance is too low to make the call...
first refund the money you stole, then I will think about calling, but you'll just steal more of it. nice plan
call the guy complaining so he has to refill and you can steal more cash. Not going to happen.
I've been ignored and neglected by this support countless times, and have submit a BBB case.
-normally a happy T-Mobile fan, but this is out of control
you don't tell people it's 10c a minute nationwide, 10c per text and then change that without notice, where was my notice? you changed it and I got robbed by your sneaky changes.

T-Mobile ETF waiver denied even though children are moving out of coverage area
T_MOBILE CUSTOMER LOYALTY IS A SHAM:
I have a family plan with T-mobile and have been a customer for over 10 years. I have 2 sons moving to college in an area where there is no Tmobile Coverage. I am forced to seek another carrier, and requested a waiver of the ETF - Early Termination Fee - only for them, because they're moving away. I faxed and mailed all the necessary proof for them, along with a thorough letter of explanation, to request the release from the ETF. Customer Loyalty flat out DENIED my request, and I CANNOT afford this nor should be liable for the ETF.
WHAT KIND OF COMPANY ARE YOU???????!!
Equipment Installment Plan
Overview
The Equipment Installment Plan (“EIP”) is a payment option available for qualified new and existing customers on selected rate plans. Qualified customers are eligible to purchase handsets by making a down payment at the time of activation or upgrade and agreeing to pay the remaining balance in a series of 24 installment payments that are added to your monthly billing statement.
All customers who choose to use the EIP option to pay for equipment are required to enter into a 24-month financing agreement signed at the time of the activation or upgrade. Although this 24-month financing agreement is required, you may choose to pay off your EIP balance at any time by making incremental additional payments or a single payment for the total balance.
To find out if you're eligible for EIP, and what your down payment and monthly installments will be, login to my.t-mobile.com and begin the upgrade process. In addition to the down payment, you will also see a charge for sales tax on the full price of the device.
Restrictions
- EIP is not available with prepaid, some Business account types, and Classic plans.
- EIP is only available through Customer Care, T-Mobile.com, My T-Mobile, or a T-Mobile Retail store.
- Customers in Washington DC and Puerto Rico are not eligible for EIP.
- Minimum purchase is $19.99.
- Due to state regulations, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, West Virginia, and Wyoming do not allow purchases on a 24-installment EIP if you have existing Premium Handset Protection insurance or bundled features on your account.
- Certain credit restrictions may apply.
- Accessories are not EIP eligible.
- If you have a current Extended Payment Schedule, you will not be eligible for EIP until it is paid off.
E-Signature Authorizations
- An electronic signature (e-Signature) Authorization is required for all EIP orders placed over the phone with Customer Care.
- If you place an order in a retail store, your physical signature is captured at the time of purchase.
- If you place your order online, you will sign electronically at the time of purchase.
- As part of the e-Signature Authorization process, you will receive an email from EIP Authorization with a link and a PIN to access and sign your EIP agreement.
- You should accept the e-Signature Authorization email within 48 hours of your order being placed.
- If you have not returned your e-Signature Authorization, you will receive an automated reminder call approximately 36 hours after your order was placed.
- If necessary, you can have the authorization resent within 96 hours before the email expires.
- When the email expires, your order will cancel and you will not be charged
Completing the Order
To provide your e-Signature Authorization:
- Select the Click here to sign link in the email.
- When prompted, enter the PIN in the Please sign using your PIN field.
- Click Sign.
- You will receive a "Signing Finished Successfully" message and the service agreement will be stamped with your electronic signature.
- When your order ships, you will receive a confirmation email with your EIP contract and a copy of T-Mobile's Financial Privacy Policy.

EIP Payments
- Payments submitted for the first installment (down payment) do not appear on your bill.
- You can choose to pay an extra amount at the time of purchase, which will re-calculate and lower your future monthly installments. Exception: Not available when upgrading with EIP on the Web.
- If you make an overpayment on your bill, it will not apply to any outstanding installments. Instead, you will have a credit on your next bill.
- You may choose to make additional balance payments on your EIP.
- You can do so through My T-Mobile, Customer Care, and at a T-Mobile Retail store.
- For instructions, see EIP Balance Payments
- Your extra payments will not reduce your monthly installment amount; instead, they will reduce the number of installments you have left to pay.
- You can choose to pay off a specific EIP on your account, but not a specific device within an EIP.
FAQs
How does the Equipment Installment Plan appear on my bill?
The EIP initial down payment amount is billed to the credit or debit card you provided when you ordered. The amount will not show on your bill because that charge was not billed to your T-Mobile account. The down payment can be viewed on the account statement used to pay the charge. If you paid in a T-Mobile store, you can also find the information on the store receipt. Your first installment is the initial down payment. Details can be found under the Other Charges section of your bill.
Can I make purchases that exceed my Equipment Credit Line?
Yes, if the purchase price is higher than the equipment credit provided to you, your initial down payment will include the difference in price above this amount.
Can I return items purchased on the Equipment Installment Plan?
Yes, items purchased on the EIP can be returned following T-Mobile’s Return Policy.
If I cancel my service, what happens to my Equipment Installment Plan balance?
- On multi-line accounts, if the line with EIP cancels wireless service, the monthly installments continue to bill as normal.
- On single-line accounts, If you cancel wireless service, the remaining balance on the device becomes due.
How quickly is the email authorization sent to me?
When the order is submitted over the phone with Customer Care, the e-Signature Authorization email is sent immediately to the email address provided. If you experience significant delays in receiving the email, contact your Internet Service Provider for assistance.

JESSICA_B, I NEED HELP!
Hi tmo_jessicab,
I have a question about my plan. At first, my current plan has just around ~$100/month in total.
On April, I got an iPhone5 and I must add a new line to get it. The Tmobile staff told me that the new line (xxx-xxx-0807) would be $5(before tax)/month because it was the promotion on 1st day iphone5 was sold at Tmobile. They made sure that, my monthly bill for 5 lines would be around ~$125-$130/month (included $20/month for the iphone5)
Then my next bill (May, 2013) was $128, that was fine, like I expected. But I didn't see anything about the payment for the iphone5 on that bill. I went Tmobile online, then went to the EQUIPMENT INSTALLMENT PLAN(S) and made $20 payment for the iphone5, after that the current balance decreased from $128 to $104, and I paid the rest like every month.
But the next bill (Jun 10. 2013), I received last week, THE CURRENT CHARGES WAS $160, I DIDN'T GET IT!!!
I SAW THE LINE (xxx-xxx-0807) HAD BEEN CHARGED $15/MONTH, NOT $5/MONTH AS THE TMOBILE STAFF HAD TOLD ME!!!
AND THE OTHERS CHARGES:
Plan #xxxxxxxx5561 Unpaid Balance $460.00-Monthly Charge $20.00
Plan #xxxxxxxx5561 Unpaid Balance $480.00-Partial Charge $20.00
WHILE I PAID $20 LAST MONTH FOR THE PHONE!!!
THEN I WENT TO EQUIPMENT INSTALLMENT PLAN(S) ONLINE AND MADE $20 PAYMENT FOR THE IPHONE5, AND NOW MY CURRENT BALANCE GO FROM $160 TO $140.
CAN YOU EXPLAIN IT TO ME? MY BILL SHOULD BE AROUND ~$125-$130/MONTH AS THE TMOBILE STAFF TOLD ME!!!
THANKS

What happens when you don't pay an installment fee on your phone?
I am looking to swap phones with a friend, they are afraid that the phone would become unusable if i don't pay the fee. I told them that it wasn't possible for tmobile to shut off the phone and make it unusable, they would only be able to charge me more for the phone. Am i correct? Can someone correct me if i'm wrong?
can i get an extension on my bill
I need AN extension on my bill to 7/8
The "Add more funds using a credit, debit, or checking account " link does not seem to be working at all
The "Add more funds using a credit, debit, or checking account " link does not seem to be working at all, nor do any other links to the page for refilling by credit or debit online. This is the second month I have been unable to refill online and it is getting very frustrating. I have tried from two different computers (one Mac and one PC) as well as my phone and none of them have worked, the page simply does not load at all. I see that many others have made this complaint and yet it still has not been resolved. Please look into this soon or I will be leaving your company altogether before next month's payment is due.
Bill Pay Arrangements
I need to make arrangements to pay $50 now and $80 on July 24. Thanks.
Where are my minutes going?
Just re-filled my pay-as-you-go phone with unlimited texting, no data, and $15 worth of minutes. I made one call to voicemail, but now my account is telling me I only have 0.80 cents left. I checked my call log and I haven't made any accidental calls or anything! This is the second time it's happened, I'm about to ditch T-Mobile but I would love to avoid the hassle if possible. Anyone have an answer?
