Yesterday I received a "push" message from t-mo to my phone, advising me that I have used 180MB of my 200MB monthly data plan and that I would incur overage charges if I went over 200MB. I logged onto my account and I see a message at the top to the same effect. In red, with an exclamation mark, it says: "You have used 180.9 MB of your 200 MB data allotment and may soon incur data overage charges" HOWEVER, when I look at my "Simple" $5/mo. data plan under my account, it says VERY clearly that I will NOT incur overages. It says: "You won’t incur overages if you exceed your plan’s allotment of high-speed data, but your data speeds will be reduced for the rest of your billing cycle." SO -- I call t-mobile. I spent quite a bit of time on the phone with a rep. He told me that I WILL incur overage charges if I go over 200MB a month. He also tried to tell me that I was not understanding what I was reading, and that what I was reading meant what he said it did, as opposed to what it actually said. It was a conversation straight out of a Monty Python sketch. Now, first of all -- I am NOT going to go over my plan limit, so no actual money is involved. Yet. I have the 200MB plan because that's all I really need; I have wifi access almost everywhere I go except in the car, shopping, etc. But I like knowing that if I DO go over 200MB, I won't be charged and that I'll just get slower speeds. There is clearly some confusion on this at t-mobile. As I told the CSR, I am not the one who is confused. I've defined the problem pretty clearly.
