I'm looking to make the move to TMo in the next few days to get in on the $70 unlimited plan while it's still around. Right now I am a Verizon customer. A few questions on the trade in/pay your ETF deal:
1) Aside from working/non-damaged, what's the criteria for the trade in device? Any requirements? I have an old AT&T Motorola RAZR that I could trade in. Understand I won't get anything for it, but as long as it covers the ETF, I am good with that.
2) Do I also have to buy a phone from Tmobile to have them cover the ETF, or can I use my own device (yes it is compatible)?
--If I have to buy one, does the $50 Samsung flip phone qualify? I'm thinking I would just buy it and then put the SIM in my smartphone when I leave the store. Then, I'd only be out $50 bucks for now.
My goal here is to get signed up now and locked on the plan, but not buy the official phone until April when either the S5 or Sony Z2 are out.
Thoughts on this?
