Not able to change plan :-(

I need to change plan to the pay as you go from the monthly plan because I will be traveling for some time outside the US.  It was suggested to me to change to the play as you go with 100$ so I can enrol in the gold rewards and I will not lose my number for 1 year.

 

Right now, my problem is that the system will not let me change to the pay as you go (it is greyed out).  The system allows me to select any other plan except this one.

 

Help please! Otherwise it will expire, I will lose my number and I do not see why on earth I should pay to get a new t-mobile number.  At that point I'll just switch.
