What is the best trade-in guarantee?
Starting September 17, if you have a T-Mobile postpaid account that's in good standing and you trade in your device, we'll beat the trade-in price for the same device if you find a better trade-in offer at AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint. If you qualify, we'll issue a bill credit for the difference (within three billing cycles). You can submit a competitor price quote up to seven days after you complete your device activation or upgrade.
All you have to do is call us or go online (see how to contact us below) within seven days of completing a trade-in at T-Mobile and tell us where, when, and for how much you saw a better deal for your device. It’s that easy.
For your trade-in to qualify:
- The competitor trade-in price quote must be for the same device (both make and model) as the one traded in to T-Mobile.
- The trade-in price quote must be from Verizon, AT&T, or Sprint.
- The trade-in price quote must be submitted within seven days of you activating or upgrading your device.
- Your trade-in device must pass a quick, 3-point inspection to qualify.
What if I find a higher trade-in value elsewhere? What information do I need?
At T-Mobile, we try to give our customers the best deal possible. We track the market every day to ensure we keep our promise, but if you do find a higher trade-in value somewhere else, we'll credit your bill in the amount of the difference. This applies whether you're a new or existing postpaid customer, and if you perform either an instant or deferred trade-in. Plus, it includes all smartphones and tablets.
To take advantage of the trade-in guarantee offer, you'll need to gather the following information:
- Competitor's name
- Trade-in value
- Date of price quote
- Device make, model, memory capacity, and color
- Phone number
I’m on the JUMP! program? Can I still participate?
Yes. The price guarantee extends to all T-Mobile customers currently enrolled in JUMP! If your device’s trade-in value is higher than your Equipment Installment Plan balance, we credit you the difference. If you find a better trade-in value within seven days of your trade-in, you can submit that offer under the best trade-in value offer.

Where do I submit my trade-in guarantee information? How do I track its status?
You must submit your information within seven days of activating or upgrading. There are two ways in which you can submit your trade-in guarantee offer:
