Feeling gouged and abused

My wife and I have been loyal t-mobile customers for at leat 8 but maybe 10 years.  We recently decided to change carriers but found that we were billed an entire month for the last 3-4 days service.  When I sought an explanation as to why my final bill wasn't pro rated I was told that if you port out your number to a different carrier you pay for the entire month.  I see some links to similar situations on this forum and T-Mobile's official explanation.  Our last 2 year contract expired over 2 and a half years ago, and I have my doubts that any contract I recieved included T-Mobile's current position.  In any case, it leaves a very bad taste in my mouth after 10 years of loyalty.  I have seen refernces to tmo_jessicab as someone who has been able to resolve issues and would welcome her assistance.  I had hoped and expected better.
